  • The Publishers Association 1annual yearbook includes a comprehensive breakdown of home and export sales, print and digital by genre (consumer, education and academic/STM).  
  • Other national trade associations will also provide statistics on local market performances including the Association of American Publishers2, Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels3 (German Publishers and Booksellers Association) 
  • The Federation of European Publishers (FEP)4 compiles annual statistics from 29 European countries.  
  • Together with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), the International Publishers Association (IPA) have previously published a global industry report5. The most recent was published in 2019. 
  • Rüdiger Wischenbart Content and Consulting published an annual Digital Consumer Book Barometer6 that is available free of charge, providing detailed insights on ebook and audiobook consumption on a selection of markets. 
  • Outsell7 is a trusted source of reports and statistics, particularly on the STM market.

  • Frankfurt Book Fair has published a series of White Papers8 about different aspects of International Publishing.
  • 2 Seas Agency9 has a regular podcast called Making Books Travel about international publishing.
  • Publishing Perspectives10, the online trade newsletter of the Frankfurt Book Fair has regular international publishing news.
  • Publishers Weekly – whilst mainly US focused, does cover international book trade news11.
