Apply to participate in the British Council’s International Publishing Fellowship (IPF) delivered in partnership with the Art X Company in India. The programme is an opportunity for publishers from the UK and India and will have a particular emphasis on literature in translation, and literature from Indian languages.

The IPF is a peer-to-peer mentorship programme which will support the career development and internationalisation of early-mid career publishers. We are seeking applications from individuals working in the publishing sector who are interested in, and/or have worked on projects in translation. We will be selecting 6 fellows from the UK and 6 fellows from India who will have the opportunity to join online network-building sessions and masterclasses with sector experts as well as study visits in both the UK and India between April 2022 and January 2023. The full Open Call with FAQs can be found on the British Council India website. Applications close 20 March 2022.

This is the second edition of the IPF and you can find out more about the programme by reading about the 2019-20 edition with publishers from Georgia, Turkey and Ukraine.

There will also be an information session held on 10 March 2022 at 10.30 UK time and here is the Zoom link – there is no need to register.
