Buenos Aires International Book Fair (Feria Internacional del Libro) is held across 20 days in April/May.

Children and Youth Book Fair is held over 23 days in July.

Translation Programmes

Translation and Publication Grant Programme (TEDA) was launched as a result of the commitment made by the Argentine Government to promote the translation of works by Argentine authors so as to encourage their printing in foreign languages. The works funded may be by both classic and contemporary Argentine authors, of any genre, whose themes are representative of the country’s national identity. The amount of the grant may not exceed USD 3200 per work.

Apart from the main publishers such as Santillana who run their own distribution operation, publishers and importers rely on distributors.

Stratford Book Services (SBS) provides school book fair service as well as interlinked book clubs for children, schools and colleagues. They are particularly strong in educational and children’s books.

Kel Ediciones distributes ELT and English language materials; they offer 40,000 different titles and over 2m books; and often attend London and Frankfurt Book Fairs.

Distribuidora Alberto Luongo is a general and education distributor.

M & A SRL focuses on library supply.
