Not a trade association but a collective voice of creators and publishers in Canada which licenses publishing repertoire to educational institutions, businesses, governments, and others.  

Association of Canadian Publishers (ACP) 
The ACP is the voice of Canadian independent book publishers, representing around 115 Canadian owned and controlled book publishers from across the country. 

Association Nationale Des Éditeurs de Livres (ANEL) 
ANEL brings together more that 110 French-language publishing houses in Quebec and Canada. Québec Édition is the name of the Export Projects department of ANEL.

Booknet Canada
BookNet Canada develops technology, standards, and education to serve the Canadian book industry. 

Canadian Independent Booksellers Association (CIBA)
Newly founded CIBA supports Canadian independent booksellers with programs, services, and advocacy. Represents 118 booksellers. (POS Software Supplier in 329 Candian Bookstores) – Collects metadata from publishers to provide a catalogue to bookshops on books available for order.

Representative body for libraries across Canada

Canadian Publishers Council
Canada’s main English-language book trade organisation, founded in 1910 

Livres Canada Books (LCB)
LCB supports the export activities of Canadian-owned book publishers. It administers the Foreign Rights Marketing assistance Program and the collective stands at Book Fairs. 

Government Organisations

Canada Book Fund
Offers funding to publishers of Canadian-authored books through its Support for Publishers (SFP) scheme. A separate fund offers export-related support.

Canada Council for the Arts
Canada’s public arts funder, providing grants to the publishing sector. Canada Council was a major funder of Canada Guest of Honour at Frankfurt Book Fair (2020-2021). 

Canadian Heritage
Provides funding and grants to support culture, history, heritage, sport, and official languages in Canada. The major fund for the publishing sector is the Canada Book Fund ( 

SODEC (Association for the Development of Cultural Enterprises)
A Quebec government organisation founded in 1983 to offer support funding to the establishing, development and influence of cultural enterprises in French Canada. 

University Association

Universities Canada
A not-for-profit membership organisation providing advocacy, forums, student support, and collaboration both within and outside the sector.
